Leadership Ottawa County
Sanchez was named Program Director in 2016 for the Leadership Ottawa County Program. For over 20 years LOC has been nurturing the development and networking of area leaders. As a 2015 graduate of the program, Sanchez was enthusiastic and excited to take the helm.
In 2020 when the Covid-19 crisis ensued, LOC had to make fundamental changes to the program delivery.
Beginning in July of 2020, Sanchez designed and led the first "Leadership Ottawa County Virtual Institute". The inaugural class of 11 participants engaged weekly in virtual meetings, an in depth study of the John Maxwell book "LeaderShift" and heard from guests who serve the Ottawa County area in a myriad of ways.
In January 2021 the second "Virtual Institute" began with a book study of the Simon Sinek best seller "Start With Why". Nearly 60 participants from across the state and beyond engaged in a 10 week course that included bi-weekly virtual meetings and discussions and a personal plan for community volunteering and enrichment.
In 2022 Carrie transitioned from Program Director to the Board of Directors.
